This year PETROFER supports a local project and donates to the Hildesheimer Tafel.
For many people, the past year was associated with challenges in their private and professional lives. The war in Ukraine and the resulting energy crisis made many people fear for their existence. As a result, more and more are dependent on food donations.
Hildesheimer Tafel has made it its mission to collect food donations and help humans with lower incomes. 120 tons of food are distributed every month. Every day four vans drive to donor companies (partly supermarkets) to pick up the food. Collected items are distributed daily to approximately 450-550 people with limited financial means. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, there are about 150 more people in need who have to be provided for, while food donations have remained at previous levels. On our way to PETROFER we witness the significant change in quantity of people visiting Hildesheimer Tafel.
To help our local community in this difficult time, PETROFER decided to support this project. PETROFER's employees participated in the campaign and collected food donations over the past two weeks. It is important to the company and staff to jointly support the weaker members of our society.
Last Friday, Ulrike Stümpel and Gesa-Marie Fischer of PETROFER, met with a representative of the Hildesheimer Tafel and handed over the collected food items together with a cash donation.
